In an unprecedented move, Amanda Seyfried’s sweeping musical drama ‘The Testament of Ann Lee’ has secured distribution after its historic Venice Film Festival premiere, where it was met with a rousing 15-minute standing ovation—proof of its cultural resonance. Directed by Mona Fastvold, the film follows Seyfried as the iconic founder of the Shakers, a radical religious movement that emerged in the late 1700s.
